Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using Bias Korean ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

Bias Korean is a Korean language learning application themed around K-pop culture, available on mobile and the web. It provides features such as:

• Korean vocabulary and phrase learning
• Hangul (Korean alphabet) learning tools
• K-pop themed quiz challenges
• An AI Korean Tutor and AI-assisted learning features
• Player-vs-player (PvP) quiz battles
• Fandom leaderboards, XP, and study streaks
• A virtual profile room (미니홈피 / Mini Home) with guestbooks and chat
• Virtual items and in-app virtual currency (Star Coins)
• Optional Premium subscriptions that unlock additional features

The App offers both free features and optional paid subscriptions (see Section 5). Star Coins are a virtual currency with no real-world monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash.

You may use some features of the App without an account, but registration is required to save progress, access community features, and participate in fandom rankings and battles.

• You may create an account with an email and password, or sign in with Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In
• You must provide accurate information when creating an account
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account (or the minimum age required in your country, such as 16 in parts of the EU)
• You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete Account

You agree NOT to:

• Cheat, or use bots, automation, or scripts to play quizzes or battles
• Manipulate, inflate, or otherwise tamper with scores or rankings
• Exploit bugs, vulnerabilities, or unintended behavior for unfair advantage
• Abuse or attempt to misuse the AI features (for example, to generate harmful, illegal, or abusive content)
• Harass, bully, threaten, or harm other users
• Impersonate K-pop artists, their management, our staff, or other users
• Post offensive, harmful, or illegal content in chat, guestbooks, or profiles
• Distribute spam, malware, or unsolicited advertising
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or our systems

Violations may result in content removal, feature restrictions, suspension, or termination of your account.

Bias Korean offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions — Premium Monthly and Premium Yearly — that unlock additional features.

• Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Billing and payment are processed and managed by Apple through In-App Purchases. We do not receive or store your payment card information.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID Account Settings after purchase.
• You can restore a previous purchase using the Restore Purchases option in the App.
• Current prices are shown in the App and on the App Store, and may vary by country or region.

Refund Policy

• 24-hour guarantee: within 24 hours of your first purchase you may request a full refund, to the extent permitted by applicable law and platform policy. After that, refunds follow the Apple App Store and Google Play refund policies.
• All subscription purchases are processed by Apple. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple in accordance with Apple's policies, and we are not able to grant App Store refunds directly.
• To request a refund, submit a request to Apple (for example, at reportaproblem.apple.com or through your Apple ID purchase history).
• Cancelling a subscription stops future renewals but does not refund the current billing period; you keep Premium access until the end of the period you already paid for.
• Except where a refund is required by applicable law (including any statutory withdrawal or consumer-protection rights in your country/region), payments are non-refundable.
• If you believe you were charged in error, please contact us at [email protected] and we will do our best to assist.

Bias Korean includes an AI Korean Tutor and other AI-assisted learning features.

• AI responses are automatically generated and are intended to provide educational assistance.
• AI responses may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. Do not rely on them as professional advice.
• You remain responsible for how you use AI-generated information.
• Please do not submit confidential or highly sensitive personal information to the AI features.

To keep the community safe, the App provides tools to report and block other users.

• You may report inappropriate users or content.
• You may block other users to prevent unwanted interactions, where supported by the App.
• Reports may be reviewed by our moderators, and we may investigate reported behavior.
• We may remove content that violates these Terms, restrict certain features, temporarily suspend accounts, or permanently terminate accounts for serious or repeated violations.
• False, abusive, or malicious reports may themselves violate these Terms.

Fandom leaderboards and PvP quiz battles are provided for educational and entertainment purposes only.

• Fraudulent, automated, or manipulated activity may result in removal of scores or rankings.
• We reserve the right to reset rankings or adjust scoring to maintain fair play.
• Unfair play may result in feature restrictions or account suspension.

Star Coins (스타코인) are virtual tokens earned through in-app activities (such as quizzes and daily check-ins) and can be used to obtain virtual room decorations within the App.

• Star Coins and virtual items have no real monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred between accounts.
• Virtual items are licensed to you for use within the App, not sold or owned by you.
• Balances and items may change due to gameplay updates or economy adjustments, and may be lost if you delete your account.

You are solely responsible for any content you create or share in the App, including:

• Profile names and display names
• Profile bios and messages
• Guestbook posts and chat messages
• Comments and battle usernames

You must not post content that is illegal, offensive, harassing, infringing, or otherwise in violation of these Terms. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms and to take action against the responsible account.

The educational content within Bias Korean — including quiz questions, flashcard content, phrase examples, UI design, and learning materials — is created for educational purposes. We do not reproduce official song lyrics, merchandise designs, or proprietary content belonging to K-pop agencies.

K-pop artist names, group names, trademarks, and logos belong to their respective owners and are used for educational and fan-appreciation purposes only. Bias Korean is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any K-pop entertainment company. Educational references do not imply any endorsement or partnership.

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using the App, you also agree to the Privacy Policy.

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, secure, or free of harmful components. Educational content is intended for learning; we do not guarantee any specific language-proficiency outcome.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bias Korean and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including loss of data, virtual items, rankings, or account access.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Serious or repeated violations may result in permanent suspension. You may terminate your account at any time via Settings → Delete Account. Upon termination, your account data will be permanently deleted. Cancelling a subscription does not delete your account, and deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription — manage subscriptions in your Apple ID Account Settings.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted within the App and reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes arising from use of the App will be handled in good faith, and we ask that you contact us first at the email below so we can try to resolve the matter.
